Facilities in Palace on Wheels
The Palace on Wheels India has 14 fully air-conditioned deluxe saloons and each saloon has 4 cabins with attached washrooms and showers. The Palace on Wheels also has two restaurants cum kitchen cars named as Maharaja and Maharani offering Indian, Rajasthani, Continental and Chinese cuisine. An attendant (Khidmatgar) is for all time available there to cater all your travel needs. There are some services on request such as laundry services, barbershop and beauty parlors etc.
Palace on Wheels Tour
You can enjoy an unforgettable journey on this train from September to April each year. The route planned for this train is in such a way that in night you travel and in daytime you get pleasure from visiting several tourist destinations. The destinations covered by the Palace on Wheels are Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur and Agra. The train takes you to palaces, forts, havelis, wildlife sanctuaries and many other wonderful destinations. There are special tour package for the companies and corporate for their employees.
Palace on Wheels Package
A package of seven nights and eight-day tour is offered on Palace on Wheels which starts from Delhi. On day 1, you visit India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb and other places in Delhi. On Day 2, you are taken to the Pink City Jaipur, which is the first stop of the Palace of Wheels. Here first you visit Hawa Mahal followed by Amber Fort, City Palace and Jantar Mantar. There are luxury coaches for intercity travel. On Day 3, you travel Sawai Madhopur and Chittaurgarh. Here the tourists pay a visit to Ranthambhor National Park which is considered the best for observing and photograrhing activities of tigers.
On the 4th day of the journey, you visit the city of Udaipur. On fifth day, you visit Jaisalmer and on the sixth day you visit Jodhpur. On the seventh day, you visit Bharatpur and see Keoladeo Ghana National Park. On the same day you go to Fatehpur Sikri and Agra to see the mosque and grave of Salimshah Chishti (inside Buland Darwaza), The Taj Mahal and Lal Quila of Agra. Palace on Wheels tariff
There are two types of tariff plans for journey in Palace on Wheels- Season and Off-Season. In season (From Oct. to March) the fair is higher. Tariff is USD 2460, USD 3040, USD 4060 on triple sharing, twin sharing and single occupancy respectively. In off season (Sept and April), the tariff comes to low as USD 1895, USD 2335, and USD 3005 respectively. The tariff is excluding Govt. service taxes and surcharges.
