The Fairy Queen
Majestic Fairy Queen is the oldest working steam engine train in the world. It had made its first journey in 1855 for the East Indian Railway. The Fairy Queen today holds the Guinness World Record of being the oldest train running in regular operation.
The Fairy Queen has also captured the National Tourism Award. In british India, the train was operated in Howrah, Raniganj and Bihar till 1908. When government of India recognized the tourism opportunities in country, in July 1997, the Indian Railway declared it as a heritage train. It operates on the 2nd and the 4th Saturday of the months of October to March on Delhi to Alwar (Rajasthan).It reaches Alwar same day and there the tourists are taken to illustrious Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary.
