Shimla Kalka Toy train

The Kalka Shimla Toy train covers a distance of 96 km in a journey. The Shivalik Deluxe Express (Toy Train) starts its journey at 5:30 am in the morning from Kalka, and within five minutes upwards elevation starts. Throughout the journey the train runs in an upward direction from 656 meters above sea level to 2076 meters above sea level. Due to this difficult upward movement of the train, its speed is restricted to 20-25 kmph. In about 4 hours and 45 minutes the train reaches the beautiful hill station of Shimla. The return journey of the train begins in the evening at 5.30 pm.

Shimla Kalka Magnetic Journey

Throughout this magnetic journey it allows you to immerse in the natural. There are eye-catching valleys and small picturesque towns and villages. The Shivalik Deluxe Express was introduced on the lines of the Shatabdi Express. Shivalik Deluxe Express (Kalaka Shimla Toy Train) is a 120 seater train with cove windows and full floor carpeting. There are reversible cushioned chairs for you to seat comfortably and tables to have meals. Luminous lights and melody in the background add to your feeling of luxury.

The services offered on the Shivalik Deluxe Express are indulgent. Tourists are servered breakfast while the train is moving from Kalka to Shimla and dinner is on the return journey. The bill for dinner is included in fare whereas the breakfast served is optional. You can also communicate with the guard on train with microphone.
