Ajanta Caves- UNESCO World Heritage
Ajanta caves,Aurangabad, Maharashtra is world's supreme chronological monument recognized by UNESCO as world heritage. Ajanta is situated 40 kilometers from Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Out of 30 caves in Ajanta, Aurangabad, 9, 10, 19, 26 and 29 are chaitya-grihas. All the other caves are monasteries. There is also Ellora caves which is also important for its rock caves and carved images. These caves are altogether known as Ajanta Ellora Caves.
